4 Reasons Why I’m Over Listicles

Enough is Enough. We can do so much better with our writing.

I am truly over listicles as a form of writing on the internet. A listicle, for the uninitiated, is an article that structures in a list. Most listicles have bullet points that have some explanation below those bullet points. I have particular feelings about listicles.

I was only annoyed with that style of writing back then. My feelings have not changed much since that point. I can not stand to read or write in the listicle format. I do understand the popularity behind writing listicles, as the listicle seems to be the quickest way to make a buck in the writing world. Even though it is a quick way to make a buck, it is also an annoying way to make a buck.

I also understand that articles formatted as listicles tends to be the easiest way to rank as high as possible in a Google search. Of course, ranking as high as possible in a Google search is one of the main goals that a writer has for their portfolio. Sometimes, it feels good to gain tons of views and even better to rank high on a Google search page.
