2020 has been a lot to handle. Through all the trials and tribulations, I’ve managed to go about every month with a goal in mind. I’ve done a mediocre job of sticking to those goals, but it hasn’t stopped me from learning a few things every month.
December, so far, has been a pretty productive month for goal attainment, self-improvement, and happiness. Here are some things that I’ve learned as we make our way into Mid December 2020.
A lot of articles I’ve read seem to be less focused on the work, and more focused on the topic…
I know we’re all focused on writing about what we’ve learned on our Medium journeys, but let’s talk for a moment about what we haven’t learned. For the sake of being, well, just being.
Here’s an extensive list of the things I have not managed to learn while writing on Medium.
Have you noticed how many articles exist about making bundles of money while writing on this platform? It almost seemed like the idea behind Medium was to make money, hand over fist, and never work another day job again.
Never-mind the fact that it is close to working a…
We are making it through the year one struggle at a time. We have not been able to be around our friends; we have not been able to be around our family. Life as we know it has not been the same. Every holiday this year has been different in 2020. Life in 2020 has been strange.
Usually, during Thanksgiving, I get ready to either be around family or family friends. Over the years of my life, I’ve celebrated Thanksgiving in Chicago, Ann Arbor, and other cities around the region. It has been a great time to spend…
I have been enjoying my time writing about various topics on Medium. Since I began writing on the platform in late July, I have earned a total of 24.59 from 30 articles, and I have learned a few things along the way. I know that what I have learned so far is only the start of what I will learn because I have just started my journey.
Here are a few things that I have learned after spending the last three months writing on Medium.
In no particular order, of course.
When starting on your Medium journey, I…
Why not use the big guns for part 2, right? Who knows. Anyway, I’m back with another installment of the Podcast Player Showdown. A series where I, your plucky story-telling friend, spends a very long time talking about Podcast Players.
Most people talk about Podcasts, as they should, but me? I talk about what we use to play them. Someone has to do it, right?
Remember the rules? Because I forgot them. Here you are in case you did too:
June is a brilliant time of year. Apple is a brilliant company. One of the only 2 Trillion-dollar Market Cap companies (Microsoft has graced themselves in the 2 Trillion dollar group recently, but that’s another story for another day), the Cupertino powerhouse is simply brilliant.
Every year, I enthusiastically check out Apple news around early June to see the greatest software to come out from the company, via their World Wide Developer Conference, better known as WWDC.
I enjoy the yearly WWDC summertime commentary on every innovation that Apple has brought to light since my first iPhone, iPhone 5. (I…
You’re going to be okay. You’ve spent so much time on Medium, writing, honing your craft, learning to spread your wings. You’ve been beaten down month after month by various flip of the coin changes that Ev seems to have, and you’re hurting.
But you’re going to be okay.
Maybe you didn’t receive the recent bonuses earmarked for the top 2000 earners. Devastating, as I’m sure we all need the money.
I didn’t receive the money either. I also managed to publish an astounding 1 article over the last 3 months. So me not receiving the bonus isn’t surprising.
Hi. I’m Amanda, a sometimes writer on Medium.
I’ve spent time writing about various things on this platform. I have stories about Podcasts, Productivity, Smartphones, and one ill-fated post about stocks. Here’s one of my podcast stories. It did fairly well in my opinion. Decide whether you agree below.
Spoiler alert: I will be attempting another learning about stocks through failure post. I explode my Robinhood account, and I freak out after a Google Assignment. I should not have freaked out. But it was fun!
Anyway, I happened to be minding my own business, looking at my phone…
Writing on Medium almost feels like an unwinnable game. You come up with an idea that you can write about with confidence. Something like iPhones, Smartphones, or some sort of technology.
I like iPhones, I like Android phones, and I miss my BlackBerry. Remember when I wrote about my BlackBerry?
You spend a solid day or so writing about the topic you’ve come up with, with Grammarly questioning your intelligence, and outlines questioning your stamina.
You finish your story, post it on ALL OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA only to realize that medium may or may not pay you a $500…
It’s me 😊. I give my random opinion on various aspects of Technology, Life, and everything else in between.
