An Opinion: Writers of Medium, You’re going to be okay.
Medium is not your only avenue, no worries, alright?
You’re going to be okay. You’ve spent so much time on Medium, writing, honing your craft, learning to spread your wings. You’ve been beaten down month after month by various flip of the coin changes that Ev seems to have, and you’re hurting.
But you’re going to be okay.
Maybe you didn’t receive the recent bonuses earmarked for the top 2000 earners. Devastating, as I’m sure we all need the money.
I didn’t receive the money either. I also managed to publish an astounding 1 article over the last 3 months. So me not receiving the bonus isn’t surprising.
But do not fret, you’re going to be okay.
Maybe, your monthly reads dropped 50 percent or more. 50% is fairly hefty. I know, because I just lost 50% of value on one of my options contracts about 5 minutes ago. My reads dropped probably around 75%. Its all relative these days.
But listen! You’re going to be okay!
Maybe, the pandemic has reduced you down to nothing but a shell of your former self. Friends who aren’t afraid to go out may not be as supportive of your recent need for the neurotic hermit lifestyle.
