Let’s Talk About Christmas; 2020 Style
And Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, Diwali, Chinese New Year, and every holiday that occurs right around now.
--
Hey Friends,
Alright, you knew this was coming. I spoke about Halloween, I spoke about Thanksgiving. The next logical “mainstream” holiday is Christmas. This year has been crazy, so of course, the holiday season is going to be just as crazy.
Before you verbally slap me in the face for not mentioning Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, and every single holiday that happens right now, let me stop you there.
I know about the insane amount of holidays that overwhelm you in November and December, and I know that not every person who reads this celebrates Christmas. I’m going to talk about the actions that tend to occur right around now for the holidays, I’m not exactly going to talk about the holiday itself. The holiday does not make a difference, but the actions surrounding the holiday do.
I’m going to talk about what we need to do differently this year in order to make it to next year. Within reason, of course.
Here are another few points about the holiday season that we can take a look at. Looking at these points can maybe help us get through the rest of the year without going insane. You do not have to suffer through this holiday. I want you to be happy. We need to attempt happiness right?
If you don’t believe we need to attempt happiness, you can move on to any previous posts on my profile. You do not have to continue reading. If you do believe that we can achieve some happiness, let us begin.
Holiday Lights are not a competition unless otherwise noted
I’m not sure whether 2020 has caused us to be a bit more in tune with the decoration of our homes because we have spent more time in those homes, or because everyone wants to be TikTok/Instagram/YouTube famous, but the outdoor lights have become a bit extreme lately.
I’m not going to be that Grinch that decides to angrily cut people’s extension cords, but I will make a mention of the sheer insanity of the holiday light extravaganzas I’ve been…
