2020 has been a lot to handle. Through all the trials and tribulations, I’ve managed to go about every month with a goal in mind. I’ve done a mediocre job of sticking to those goals, but it hasn’t stopped me from learning a few things every month.
December, so far, has been a pretty productive month for goal attainment, self-improvement, and happiness. Here are some things that I’ve learned as we make our way into Mid December 2020.
A lot of articles I’ve read seem to be less focused on the work, and more focused on the topic…
I know we’re all focused on writing about what we’ve learned on our Medium journeys, but let’s talk for a moment about what we haven’t learned. For the sake of being, well, just being.
Here’s an extensive list of the things I have not managed to learn while writing on Medium.
Have you noticed how many articles exist about making bundles of money while writing on this platform? It almost seemed like the idea behind Medium was to make money, hand over fist, and never work another day job again.
Never-mind the fact that it is close to working a…
We are making it through the year one struggle at a time. We have not been able to be around our friends; we have not been able to be around our family. Life as we know it has not been the same. Every holiday this year has been different in 2020. Life in 2020 has been strange.
Usually, during Thanksgiving, I get ready to either be around family or family friends. Over the years of my life, I’ve celebrated Thanksgiving in Chicago, Ann Arbor, and other cities around the region. It has been a great time to spend…
I have been enjoying my time writing about various topics on Medium. Since I began writing on the platform in late July, I have earned a total of 24.59 from 30 articles, and I have learned a few things along the way. I know that what I have learned so far is only the start of what I will learn because I have just started my journey.
Here are a few things that I have learned after spending the last three months writing on Medium.
In no particular order, of course.
When starting on your Medium journey, I…
Why not use the big guns for part 2, right? Who knows. Anyway, I’m back with another installment of the Podcast Player Showdown. A series where I, your plucky story-telling friend, spends a very long time talking about Podcast Players.
Most people talk about Podcasts, as they should, but me? I talk about what we use to play them. Someone has to do it, right?
Remember the rules? Because I forgot them. Here you are in case you did too:
I’m feeling very nostalgic whilst I think about the good old days of Motorola. The closest I ever got to owning a Moto Razr is when my sister and I put money towards my mother’s new Motorola Razr way back in the early aughts.
Back then, that Razr was $300 on-contract. It was an ungodly amount of money, but it’s also my mother. So you do what you have to do.
So naturally throughout my owning various Motorola devices, and watching the company rise, and fall, and work towards being amazing again; I’m pretty excited to see the company go…
I’ve had a good time talking about affordable smartphones this year. It takes me back to my roots of selling smartphones/feature phones at RadioShack. I miss those days.
Time to do a bit of a focused approach to my series with an All Nokia affordable smartphone extravaganza. I’ve always had a soft spot for Nokia when it comes to devices. From the indestructible Nokia 3310 to the Zeiss Optics packing Nokia 1020 to my personal favorite, the Nokia 1520. Nokia has had a hearty history, it’s good to see the company still alive, through licensing with HMD.
I’ve been bumping around with writing on Medium for 7 months. I’ve had some rough articles, and I’ve had some articles that I am proud of.
I’ve had a few articles in larger publications, and recently, a slew of articles in a publication that I guess disbanded, but that’s another story for another day.
Overall, I’ve had a lovely time writing on Medium. The process has helped me grow from the writer that was berated throughout high school into the person who might not be such a terrible writer after all. …
I’ve been contemplating this whole situation for the past couple of weeks. Meme Stocks have all but taken over the airwaves, and I’m here for every bit of the insanity. The only thing I wish is that Radioshack would have been one of the stocks in the middle of this whole mess. I miss Radioshack.
Anyway, I wasn’t thinking about the future of Gamestop necessarily (which is still pretty bleak), nor was I thinking of the future of my stock portfolio (which also, might be bleak).
I instead thought about a few disclaimers to bestow upon the world as we…
I mentioned a few bits about upcoming smartphones this year. I’m pretty excited for the flagship phones that are coming down the pipeline. I spoke about those flagship phones, including iPhone 13, the recently announced Galaxy S21, and the upcoming Galaxy Foldables expected to launch later this year.
This time, we’re taking a look at the more affordable devices that are expected to launch in 2021. Affordable phones have become more prevalent, with more people balking at the high prices of devices like iPhone 12 Pro, Galaxy Z Fold 2, etc. …
It’s me 😊
